In FY 2024, the WLA regular membership encompassed 165 state-regulated lottery and sports betting members spanning 89 states and territories and five geographic regions, all underpinned by 78 industry suppliers.
In FY 2024, the global regulated lottery and sports betting ecosystem encompassed more than 200 state-regulated lottery and sports betting entities spanning over 100 states and territories and five geographic regions.
WLA Regular Members generated USD 397.6 billion in sales in FY 2024, equivalent to the GDP (PPP) of Hungary.
The global regulated lottery and sports betting ecosystem generated at least USD 441.1 billion in sales in FY 2024, equivalent to the GDP (PPP) of Portugal.
In FY 2024, WLA Regular Members returned USD 94.8 billion in support of good causes, more than all charitable giving in the US in 2024 to human and social services.
In FY 2024, the global regulated lottery and sports betting ecosystem returned at least USD 109.0 billion in support of good causes, breaking the USD 100 billion barrier for the second time. This is the approximate equivalent of all charitable giving in the US in 2024 to education, arts, culture, and the humanities.
WLA Regular Members and Associate Members together supported more than 113,600 direct full-time employees in FY 2024, and 1.4 million full-time employees indirectly in the wider community, equivalent to the population of Auckland (NZ) or San Diego (US).
WLA Platinum and Gold Contributors enjoyed combined revenues of more than USD 4.9 billion and supported more than 17,200 direct full-time employees in 2024, underpinning the entire global regulated lottery and sports betting ecosystem.
