The first half of 2026 has been promising for Veikkaus, and the company has returned to a growth path. In the Finnish business operations, growth has been particularly focused on digital channels. The international B2B subsidiary Fennica Gaming continued to expand its operations and signed significant new distribution agreements. Veikkaus continues its active preparation for the upcoming multi-license market and increasing competition, both in Finland and internationally.

HELSINKI, 3 September 2026

Veikkaus Group’s actual sales revenue in January–June 2026 was 471.3 million euros (466.4). The Group’s operating profit was 227.7 million euros (220.6) and its profit for the financial period was 234.2 million euros (229.6). Revenue and profit were improved in particular by growth in digital business: gross gaming revenue from digital channels increased by 9.1% in the Lottery and Land Based Gaming business and by 5.0% in the Betting and iCasino business. At the end of June, the number of Veikkaus’ registered customers was close to 2.7 million.

“Veikkaus’ first half of the year has developed positively and in line with our expectations: we have returned to a growth path. It is great to see that our investments in digital business and technical capabilities are delivering results in the current operating environment. The growth of our online store in the Finnish businesses has exceeded the general market development in Finland, and in the first half of the year, 64.5% of gross gaming revenue came from the digital channel,” says Veikkaus’ CEO Olli Sarekoski.

The revenue of Fennica Gaming, the subsidiary engaged in international B2B operations, including game production for Veikkaus’ Finnish businesses, increased by 80.6% in January–June and was 10.3 million euros (5.7).

“Fennica Gaming’s growth has continued in international markets, and the company has progressed with new channel partnerships and customer relationships in line with our plans. In the first half of the year, Fennica Gaming expanded its operations to several new markets: Italy, Canada, two German states, Mexico, the Czech Republic and Iceland,” Sarekoski says.

Finland’s gambling market will move to a license-based system on 1 July 2027. In May, Veikkaus established two separate subsidiaries for the future market and submitted license applications for both exclusive operations and the competitive license-based market. Preparations for the market opening are progressing according to plan.

“Veikkaus has excellent prerequisites to succeed also in the new license-based market. We are continuously developing our services and products to provide our customers with an entertaining and safe gaming environment. Leveraging technology and internationalization are key factors in this,” Sarekoski says.
