WLA lottery and sports betting members work hard to deliver the ultimate player experience, which is not only about fun and entertainment.
Those who achieve certification to the WLA Responsible Gaming Framework and the WLA Security Control Standard, ensure safe, secure player environments and demonstrate adherence to industry best practices.
In our final magazine for 2025, we explore how the WLA assists members through the maintenance and enhancement of our two industry standards, the development of new tools and materials as well as events and webinars organized to provide participants with the latest best practices and industry updates and the opportunity to learn from other lotteries.
Our President, Andreas Kötter, gives an interview on some of the challenges our industry faces and the key strategic initiatives that have been delivered to reinforce the certification process for our members.
Our Executive Director, Luca Esposito provides an interesting perspective on how licensed lottery operators deliver high standards of responsible gambling to ensure that gambling regulators and stakeholders in society have confidence that the industry is committed to preventing gambling harm.
CSR Committee activities
The Chair of the WLA CSR Committee, Sarah Taylor, provides an update on the Committee’s work and new products, including Project RED, a powerful tool which allows our members to build a more Responsible Ethical and Dynamic industry, by offering resources and case studies and allowing participating lotteries to benchmark their responsible gaming activities, and interact with peers around the world.
