Veikkaus Group’s actual sales revenue was EUR 936.3 (959.1) million. The Group’s operating profit was EUR 431.6 (461.6) million and its profit for the financial year was EUR 447.2 (471.5) million, slightly exceeding the set target. In total, Veikkaus will pay EUR 466,4 (475,9) million to Government Ownership Steering for 2025 and EUR 578.3 (591.9) million to the State of Finland.
The Group’s result was affected by increased investments in business development and by the Lottery and Land Based Gaming business division’s (the future monopoly subsidiary) lower-than-average lottery jackpots and higher-than-average payouts in Keno.
“Veikkaus Group’s result for 2025 slightly exceeded the target, and the decline in gross gaming revenue was curbed in the second half of the year. Our direction is now the right one. The latter half of the year was particularly strong for both our international business and the Betting and iCasino business. All three business divisions have now reached a performance level that provides a basis for expecting growth in 2026,” says Veikkaus’ CEO Olli Sarekoski.
The number of Veikkaus’ registered customers increased by approximately 70,000 during the year and was close to 2.7 million at the end of 2025. This provides an excellent foundation for business success when the multi-license market opens in the summer of 2027. Of the Group’s gross gaming revenue from gambling operations in Finland, 61% came from digital channels.
In December, Parliament approved the new Gambling Act. The Act creates a partial multi-license system in Finland, under which companies will be able to apply for licenses for sports betting and online casino games on the Finnish market.
“Veikkaus strongly supported the reform, which directs gaming to licensed offerings, reduces the role of the offshore market and creates a market where all operators are subject to the same rules and have equal opportunities. The forthcoming change is a major opportunity for Veikkaus,” Sarekoski says.
