WLA increases efforts to combat match-fixing and maintain sports integrity

Sports and sports betting are more popular than ever, and there is nothing better than seeing your team win. However, a big challenge faced today by the entire sports and sports betting ecosystem around the world is the growing instance of match-fixing.

The WLA has ramped up its activities to combat match fixing and other illicit activities which negatively impact our industry and jeopardize the integrity of sports. Together with other stakeholders, we are leading this global fight.

In our latest magazine (Issue 67), our President, Andreas Kötter, provides a high-level overview of increased WLA efforts to combat match fixing and related illicit activities, while the Chair of the Betting Integrity on Sports & Horse Racing Committee (BISHRC) – Jean-Luc Moner-Banet drills down into the Committee’s activities and initiatives.

We also hear from our sister organization the United Lotteries for Integrity of Sports (ULIS), with whom we work closely to address the above-mentioned issues. In an interview, ULIS President, Gilles Maillet discusses latest achievements, and product and services developments.
