The National Lottery Authority (NLA), Ghana, Good Causes Foundation was launched in October 2021, with the purpose of providing care and protection for the physically or mentally afflicted, the needy, the aged, orphans, and destitute children, as stated in the Authority's National Lotto Act, 2006 (Act 722).

Projects supported in 2025

Throughout 2025, the NLA supported diverse good causes, to the benefit of many communities, including:

  • Healthcare & Disaster Relief: Allocated GHS 100,000.00 to the Upper West Region to combat meningitis and GHS 100,000.00 to the Volta Region for tidal wave victims.
  • Education & Infrastructure: Completed and commissioned an ultra-modern 3-unit classroom block—complete with a kitchen, offices, washrooms, and a mechanized borehole—at Akanteng in the Eastern Region.
  • Culture & Heritage: Donated GHS 50,000.00 to refurbish the Gbewaa Palace in the Northern Region, and provided cash and drinks to various palaces for the Kwahu and Homowo festivals.
  • Youth, Sports & Social Empowerment: Supported Real Tamale United (GHS 60,000.00) for Premier League playoffs and the National Youth Festival (GHS 50,000.00). Additionally, it gave Blind Support NGO GHS 100,000.00 to fund skills training for persons with disabilities.
