

WLS 2024 Recap

The World Lottery Summit 2024, held in Paris, in October, provided the perfect opportunity for the global, regulated lottery and sports betting industry to meet, share best practices and experiences, and focus their efforts to raise funds to support many causes worldwide.
‍
Organized together with host lottery Groupe FDJ - La Française des Jeux, at the Palais des Congrès de Paris, participants were able to discuss latest products and services showcased by suppliers at the tradeshow.
‍
An excellent line-up of keynote and industry expert speakers, including representatives from WLA members and suppliers, gave insights into many important topics that impact our industry in different ways, for instance: supporting good causes, responsible gaming, security certification, combatting illegal betting, sports integrity, marketing and innovation, technologies, and more.
‍
The WLA was pleased to recognize outstanding contributions to our industry through our advertising, responsible gaming, and lifetime achievement awards.

Our global lottery and sports betting members work hard to raise funds to support good causes in sport, social welfare, culture, education, and the environment. This is a key criterion for WLA membership, and a common thread that unites all of our member organizations.

‍In order to showcase this excellent work, WLA initiated the Play for Society project, with a first exhibition during the WLS 2022.
‍
During WLS 2024, lottery members from the five WLA global regions shared videos of the incredible projects they support at the Play for Society display.
‍
Benefitting causes for education in Africa, sport in Asia Pacific, culture in Europe, healthcare in Latin America, and the environment in North America, visitors were left inspired by the amount of funds raised, communities supported, and lives changed around the world.
