Hoosier Lottery, US - supports different causes including local police and firefighters’ pensions
For over 35 years, Hoosier Lottery funds have supported the state of Indiana including local police and firefighters’ pensions, the Teachers’ Retirement Fund and the Lottery Surplus Fund. To capture this incredible give back message and our brand mission, we created the attached ‘Champions of Play’ TV spot this year so Hoosier Lottery players, partners and Hoosier residents in general know where the Hoosier Lottery’s funds go, and the impact we make on the state of Indiana. This spot highlights our players, beneficiary groups and give back message, and airs on various local Indiana TV stations and streaming services annually, and in high rotation during key beneficiary recognition days. It is also shared/aired by our Sponsors/Partners such as the Indianapolis Colts, Indy Indians, Indiana Pacers, and more. It is on our YouTube channel and has been featured online and on our social media channels as well.
Since 1989, the Hoosier Lottery has returned more than $8.1 billion to the State of Indiana, including;
- Showing love to those who gave Indiana’s children the gift of learning by contributing more than $1.0 billion to the Teachers’ Retirement Fund.
- Helping protect the retirement of those who dedicated their lives to protecting us by distributing nearly $880 million to local police and firefighters’ pensions.
- Contributing more than $6.1 billion to the Lottery Surplus Fund, used in part to lower excise taxes by up to 50 percent paid by Hoosier motor vehicle owners. Â
- Hoosier Lottery funds have benefited every county throughout Indiana.
