The New Hampshire Lottery put the focus squarely on the student-athletes of New Hampshire during a special event with National Hockey League legend and former Boston Bruins Captain Patrice Bergeron on Thursday, April 3, 2025. With all sports betting profits in New Hampshire earmarked for public education, the New Hampshire Lottery hosted Bergeron to help celebrate the fifth anniversary of sports betting in the Granite State – but the special event was all about making a positive impact on New Hampshire student-athletes.

Bergeron joined five New Hampshire high school hockey players for an exciting on-ice skills competition – an unforgettable experience where students got the chance of a lifetime to compete directly with one of the all-time greats. The competition highlighted teamwork, perseverance and community pride. To reinforce the New Hampshire Lottery’s dedication to supporting public education and to add some excitement for participants and fans, each player had the chance to win up to $1,000 for their school during the skills competition. In a heartwarming surprise twist, the New Hampshire Lottery awarded each participant with the full $1,000 regardless of the scoreboard. Bergeron reinforced the New Hampshire Lottery’s mission throughout, underscoring its commitment to not only generating maximum revenue for the students, teachers and schools of New Hampshire, but also to creating opportunities that make a real difference for students across the state.
