The New Hampshire Lottery has turned up the volume on education with an extraordinary partnership with Recycled Percussion over the past two years. To make a direct and lasting impact on students, the New Hampshire Lottery surprised schools with high-energy concert appearance and a $2,500 contribution – on top of that all New Hampshire Lottery profits are earmarked to support public education in the Granite State. The excitement started on Facebook, where followers nominated schools that were then entered a drawing for the chance to host Recycled Percussion live. The response was incredible: thousands of nominations poured in, leading to seven amazing concerts and more than $17,000 awarded to schools across the state in 2024 and 2025.

Recycled Percussion, originally from Manchester, New Hampshire, is famous as the original “junk rock” band, creating music from recycled materials and proving that creativity has no limits. Their message to kids is powerful: you can make music from anything, and kindness, inclusion and empathy make the world a better place. Each concert was more than a show – it was an experience. Students danced in the aisles, teachers battled it out with hilarious dance competitions, three-point basketball contests brought out school spirit, and some lucky students even got to jam on Recycled Percussion’s one-of-a-kind instruments. It was music, fun and inspiration rolled into one unforgettable celebration of creativity and community – and the New Hampshire Lottery’s ongoing support for the students, teachers and schools of New Hampshire.

Most recently, the New Hampshire Lottery hosted Recycled Percussion at the Wells Memorial School in Harrisville, New Hampshire, and is scheduled to visit Cutler Elementary School in Swanzey, New Hampshire on January 13, 2026. Above is a photo from Recycled Percussion’s performance at the Charlotte Avenue School in Nashua, New Hampshire on January 17, 2025.
